What the Three Verdicts Mean
Every lab report analysis ends with one of three plain-language verdicts.
Air Quality Is Normal
Indoor spore counts are similar to or lower than the outdoor control sample. No moisture-indicator molds detected. No immediate action needed.
Worth Investigating
One or more indoor locations show spore counts notably higher than outdoors, or a water-associated mold type is present. A professional inspection is recommended.
Action Recommended
Stachybotrys (black mold), Chaetomium, or significantly elevated counts detected. An in-person inspection with moisture readings and thermal imaging is strongly advised.
Questions About Lab Reports
What is a mold air quality lab report?
After a mold inspection, air samples are sent to an accredited laboratory. The lab counts and identifies mold spores captured in each sample and reports the concentrations by type. The numbers can look confusing without context — that is what this tool is for.
What is the outdoor control sample?
Every proper air quality test includes one outdoor sample taken at the same time as the indoor samples. This is the baseline. Indoor spore levels should generally be equal to or lower than outdoor levels. If an indoor room is significantly higher, that is a flag.
What is Stachybotrys and why is it serious?
Stachybotrys chartarum is commonly called black mold. Even a single spore detected in an indoor air sample is a concern because this mold only grows in conditions of sustained heavy moisture. Its presence means there is likely an active water problem somewhere in the property.
Can the AI replace a professional inspection?
No. The AI provides a plain-language translation of existing lab results to help you understand what you are looking at. A professional inspection also includes a visual survey, moisture readings, thermal imaging, and physical sample collection. If your AI verdict is elevated or serious, an in-person inspection is the right next step.
Is this service really free?
Yes. There is no charge to upload your lab report and receive the explanation. Home Enviro provides this as a service to the community. If the results indicate a concern, we are available to schedule an in-person inspection at (954) 994-8847.
¿El asistente habla español?
Sí. El asistente detecta automáticamente si usted escribe en español y responde en su idioma. Puede subir su reporte y agregar una nota en español para recibir la explicación completa en español.
Ready for a Complete Professional Assessment?
If your lab report shows elevated or serious results, an in-person inspection with moisture readings, thermal imaging, and additional sampling gives you the full picture. Same-week appointments are usually available.
