Why Homeowners and Contractors Choose Home Enviro
Same-Day Clearance Results. No Lab Wait.

What Is PRV?

Post-Remediation Verification Explained

Post-Remediation Verification (PRV) is an independent evaluation conducted after mold remediation work is complete. The goal is to confirm that: all visible mold has been removed, airborne spore levels have returned to normal (at or below outdoor baseline), moisture levels have been corrected, and the remediated areas are safe for re-occupancy.

The PRV must always be conducted by an independent licensed mold assessor not the same company that performed the remediation. This is both an industry standard and a Florida statutory requirement.

Home Enviro has been performing PRV clearance testing for over 20 years. Our clearance reports are accepted by insurers, lenders, property managers, and legal counsel throughout South Florida.

Our Process

4-Step PRV Clearance Process

1. Visual & Moisture Inspection

We conduct a thorough visual inspection of all remediated areas and measure moisture levels in surrounding materials to confirm the moisture source has been corrected.

2. Environmental Sampling

Targeted air and surface samples are collected from remediated zones, adjacent areas, and an outdoor baseline to establish the full picture of post-remediation spore levels.

3. Independent Lab Analysis

All samples are sent to an AIHA-accredited independent laboratory for analysis. Results are typically returned within 24 to 48 hours and are never influenced by the remediation contractor.

4. Clearance Certification

Once lab results confirm successful remediation, we issue an official Clearance Certificate with full documentation accepted by insurers, lenders, and legal counsel.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the most common questions about Home Enviro's PRV Clearance Testing services.

What is Post-Remediation Verification (PRV) clearance testing?

Post-Remediation Verification (PRV) is an independent inspection and air sampling process performed after a mold remediation company has completed their work. It confirms that mold levels have returned to normal background levels and that remediation was successful. Home Enviro issues a written clearance letter upon passing results.

Why do I need an independent company for PRV testing?

Florida Statute 468.8411 prohibits the same company from performing both remediation and clearance testing on the same property. An independent clearance inspection by a licensed mold assessor like Home Enviro ensures unbiased results. Many insurance companies, attorneys, and real estate transactions require independent clearance documentation.

How soon after remediation can PRV testing be done?

PRV testing should be scheduled after the remediation contractor has completed all containment removal and confirmed their work is finished. The testing area should be under normal living conditions with the HVAC system running. Home Enviro provides same-day clearance results so there is no waiting on a lab. Once sampling is complete, results are delivered the same day, allowing remediation contractors and homeowners to move forward without delays.

What does a PRV clearance inspection include?

The PRV clearance inspection includes a visual assessment of the remediated area, collection of air samples inside the treated zone and an outdoor baseline, and laboratory analysis comparing indoor and outdoor mold spore levels. If results are within acceptable parameters, Home Enviro issues a written clearance letter with laboratory reports attached.

How much does PRV clearance testing cost?

Home Enviro's PRV clearance package starts at $375 and includes the inspection, air sampling, laboratory analysis, and a written clearance letter. Call (954) 994-8847 for a quote based on your specific property and remediation scope.
